Caol Ait - The words describe a Thin Place where Heaven and Earth come together. There are many of those places on South Bass Island. We invite you to tell us about the Thin Places you have found here at South Bass. Some of the places others have mentioned are:

  • St Paul's sanctuary
  • Walking the laybrinth on St. Paul's lawn - open dawn to dusk
  • Listening to the water on the beach at the State Park
  • Walking through the bird sanctuary at East Point
  • Standing under a shade tree at the light house  
  • Sunsets from anywhere on the West Shore
  • Walking on the grounds of Perry's Victory and International Peace Memorial
  • The frog pond at the Nature Center

      Labyrinth - St Paul's has a labrinth on the grounds for prayerful walking. It was created in 2011 - 2012.. Labyrinth workshops may be scheduled for your group - just call! There is also information on the Worldwide Labyrinth Locator (external link)
